South Africa में Tata Nexon अब एक नए नाम से बिक रही है। वहां कंपनी ने इसे Tata Osprey नाम दिया है। Design देखकर साफ समझ आता है कि इसकी roots Nexon में ही हैं, लेकिन South African version में engine options और features का combination अलग रखा गया है।
Tata Osprey की शुरुआती कीमत ZAR 2,49,900 यानी करीब ₹14.80 lakh बताई गई है। Osprey नाम एक migratory bird of prey से लिया गया है, जिसे endurance और agility के लिए जाना जाता है।

Design Nexon जैसा ही, लेकिन नाम और package अलग
Tata Osprey को South Africa में CBU route से भेजा गया है। इसका exterior भारतीय Nexon से काफी मिलता-जुलता है। Colours भी काफी familiar हैं, हालांकि वहां उनके नाम अलग रखे गए हैं।
उदाहरण के लिए भारत में मिलने वाला Pristine White colour South Africa में First Light नाम से मिलता है। दूसरे colours की naming भी वहां के market के हिसाब से बदली गई है।
यानी Osprey कोई बिल्कुल नई SUV नहीं है। आसान भाषा में कहें तो यह South Africa के लिए अलग नाम और अलग feature combination के साथ पेश की गई Tata Nexon है।

Tata Osprey में 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine दिया गया है। यह engine 120 PS की power और 170 Nm का torque generate करता है। Transmission में 5-speed manual और paddle shifters वाला 7-speed dual-clutch automatic option मिलता है।
Indian Nexon से तुलना करें तो यहां बड़ा फर्क engine choice का है। भारत में Nexon diesel और CNG options के साथ भी मिलती है, जबकि South African Osprey सिर्फ petrol engine के साथ पेश की गई है।
इसका सीधा मतलब है कि South Africa में buyer के पास powertrain चुनने के options कम हैं।

Creative trim में cabin और ज्यादा loaded हो जाता है
Creative trim में rear AC vents, auto-fold ORVMs, height-adjustable driver seat, 4 speakers और 2 tweeters, HD rear-view camera तथा wireless Android Auto और Apple CarPlay जैसे features दिए गए हैं।
इस trim में 10.25-inch Harman touchscreen, fully automatic temperature control और cruise control भी मिलता है।
Osprey की feature list में cooled glovebox, hidden rear wiper और washer, Type-A और Type-C USB charging ports, touch-based control panel, 360-degree surround-view system और blind-view monitor जैसे features भी शामिल हैं।
360-degree camera और blind-view monitor parking और low-speed manoeuvring के दौरान काम आने वाले features हैं। खासकर tight जगह पर car park करते समय इनका फायदा महसूस हो सकता है।
Creative+ PS में panoramic sunroof, लेकिन ADAS नहीं
Top-spec Creative+ PS trim में voice-activated panoramic sunroof और wireless charger मिलता है। इसके अलावा bi-function LED headlamps, cornering function वाले front fog lamps, rear defogger और cup holder वाला rear-seat armrest भी दिया गया है।
इसमें TPMS, front parking sensors, automatic rain-sensing wipers और automatic headlamps जैसे features भी मिलते हैं।
लेकिन यहां एक चीज जरूर नोट करनी चाहिए। उपलब्ध source के अनुसार भारत में Nexon पर मिलने वाला ADAS South African Osprey के किसी भी variant में नहीं दिया गया है।
Source में यह भी बताया गया है कि Osprey पर 5-star NCAP safety rating applicable होगी। हालांकि safety rating और ADAS अलग चीजें हैं, इसलिए दोनों को एक ही तरह से नहीं देखना चाहिए।

Osprey के साथ Tata ने अपनी नई unified global retail identity TATA.CARS भी पेश की है। यह Tata की passenger vehicle range को cover करेगी, जिसमें hatchbacks, SUVs और sedans के साथ ICE और EV models दोनों शामिल हैं।
South Africa में Tata, distributor Motus Holdings के साथ काम करती है। वहां कंपनी Harrier, Curvv, Punch, Tiago और अब Osprey जैसे models के साथ मौजूद है।
Osprey में सिर्फ नाम ही नहीं बदला है। South African version में engine choice और equipment combination भी Indian Nexon से अलग रखा गया है।
Indian buyers के लिए इस खबर का क्या मतलब है?
भारत के buyers के लिए सबसे जरूरी बात यह है कि Tata Osprey किसी नए India launch की घोषणा नहीं है। यह South Africa में Osprey नाम से बेची जा रही Tata Nexon है।
इसलिए Osprey नाम देखकर यह मान लेना सही नहीं होगा कि Tata भारत में Nexon को replace करने वाली है या इसी नाम से कोई नई SUV लाने जा रही है। उपलब्ध source में ऐसी कोई जानकारी नहीं है।
